Delete Your ChannelSurf Account
This page explains how to request deletion of your ChannelSurf account and the data associated with it. ChannelSurf accounts are optional — they only exist if you started a free trial or purchased ChannelSurf Premium (cross-device sync, DVR, and Room Sync).
How to delete your account
In the app, go to Settings → Subscription → Delete account, confirm, and your account and its data are deleted immediately.
If you can't access the app, send a deletion request from the email address on your account to support@channelsurfplayer.com with the subject line "Delete my account." We process email requests within 7 days and confirm by reply.
Looking to delete only your synced data and keep your account? See Delete Your Data instead.
What gets deleted
- Your email address and account record.
- Your subscription/entitlement record (plan, renewal date, purchase source).
- Your synced data — favorites, watchlist, watched/recently-watched items, and resume positions — stored on our backend for cross-device sync.
- Any paired-device and Room Sync group membership tied to your account.
What is kept, and for how long
- A one-way hash of your email (not reversible to your address) is retained indefinitely to enforce the one-free-trial-per-email limit. It contains no readable personal data and cannot be used to identify you or contact you.
- Billing records held by our payment processors (Paddle for web purchases; Apple/Google for in-app purchases) are retained per their own retention policies, typically to meet tax and financial-recordkeeping legal requirements. We do not control this retention period — see Paddle's privacy policy or your App Store/Google Play purchase history for details.
Data you store only on your own device — IPTV provider credentials, local favorites/watchlist if sync was never enabled, downloaded EPG data — is not held by us at all and is unaffected by an account-deletion request; you can clear it by uninstalling the app or using Settings on-device.
